At Hadar’s Glow we use the GEM-IPL acne treatment, which has been described as the most significant advancement in acne treatment for decades. It is a safe, fast, painless, effective technology which uses light that is UV-safe, has no known side effects and is an FDA approved procedure designed to control existing acne outbreaks and reduce future acne outbreaks.
The acne starts when the opening of the hair follicle, pores, is blocked. The bacteria that lives inside the hair follicle starts to multiply rapidly. That is causing the body’s immune system to fight the bacteria by starting an inflammation. Thus, the acne appears. As long as the bacterial activity continues, the inflammation continues and the acne flourishes.
Acne can leave life-long emotional and physical scars. It can be difficult to treat by traditional therapies such as lotions, peels and oral antibiotics, those which are known to cause side effects such as: redness, irritation, upset stomach, light sensitivity, yeast infections, etc. as well as sometimes requiring months to work, if they work at all.
Recent studies indicate about 40% of skin bacteria have become resistant to antibiotics, making them a doubtful solution against skin breakouts. Now, you can clear mild to moderate inflammatory acne without side effects, discomfort, photo-sensitivity or downtime.

How Does It Work?
The GEM-PL high intensity broad spectrum light is absorbed in the photo excitation process and releases an oxygenator, which proves to be fatal to the P. Acne (Propionibacterium Acne) bacteria. Hadar’s Glow can effectively help you clear inflammation and acne in a fraction of time.
There are five different kinds of Acne:
1. Acne Vulgaris: The most common form of acne; usually affects people from puberty to young adulthood and affects areas of skin with; Seborrhea (scaly red skin), Comedones (blackheads and whiteheads), Papules (pinheads), Pustules (pimples), Nodules (large papules) and possibly scarring.
2. Acne Conglobata: Is an uncommon and unusual severe form of acne. More common with males and characterized by pustules and nodules, which often connect under the skin and might cause a severe bacterial infection, as well as extensive scarring.
3. Acne Cosmetica: Triggered by topical make-up and appears as small pink bumps.
4. Acne Medicamentosa: Caused by sensitivity to drugs and medicines. Medications that trigger acne Medicamentosa most frequently are hormone analogues.
5. Acne Rosacea: An inflammation of the face, neck or chest, characterized by papules, blushing or flushing of the skin, as well as dilated blood vessels.
GEM-IPL system is most effective to treat types 1, 2 & 5. In those types of acne a bacterial action is present especially P. acnes which tend to produce endogenous porphyrins as a part of its normal metabolism.
Treatment Procedure:
During the treatment, you will be asked to put on protective eyewear. A layer of chilled gel is applied to the area to cool the skin and allow the light to more easily penetrate the skin surface. The machine’s handle is placed against the skin and a short pulse of light is released. The handle is moved to the neighboring area until the entire area has been treated.
A slight warming sensation is normal. No anesthesia is required.
A typical session for acne treatment on the face area, for example, will take in the region of twenty to thirty minutes. Usually six GM-IPL sessions will result in significant improvements.
Expected Results:
After just a few treatments most clients will notice a dramatic improvement on their skin.
